EINE RADFAHRT IM WINTER
Fichtel & Sachs, Germany, 1963

This game was issued as a promotion for the Fichtel & Sachs Torpedo three-speed derailleur. I do not know much about these things, but it looks like this piece of gear, or at least some version of it, is still in production.

The game consists of a three-fold A4-sized sheet, two sides of which have the game board while the third has the rules (see below). Along with the game came a small bag with six cute little plastic cyclists and a small (10 mm) wooden die. It is legitimate to wonder whether these implements were part of the original game or if they were added by some previous owner, but most copies of the game I have seen (not that many, really) have the same cyclists and die, so we can safely assume they were part of the game.

The game represents a bicycle ride through a winter landscape. The playing board measures 42x29 cm

The cyclists measure 20mm.

I had never seen these figurines before, they might have been made specially for this game.

Smile for the camera!

I wonder what they are looking at...

The corrected rule for square 183 is also present on most copies of the game.

Thanks to Daniela & Thomas for this game (and also thanks to Frank Kisnat who first told me about it).
